American Hustle

Didn't see a thread for this, figured I'd make one. David O. Russell is killing it right now. Seems like all he does is make Oscar worthy films. I loved Silver Linings, and this one is right up there. Best performance I've seen from Bale maybe ever, and while the narrative is a bit thick at points, the characters do a great job of driving the story forward. The story itself is good as well, not knocking that at all. Just occasionally it can become a bit poorly paced, it's still thrilling and exciting for the most part.

He's Bradley Cooper's reasonable, often frustrated FBI boss who can't seem to catch a fucking break. He's only in maybe 10-15 minutes of the movie, but his performance is very memorable.

I fucking love this movie, I think everyone did their parts perfectly. This is probably the first movie I've seen in the last year that kept me interested the whole time.

This could very well be true, and it's a testament to how well the other actors played in the film. I thought she was pretty good, and her name will draw a lot of attention come award season. She certainly stole her scene with Adams, and could be argued as possibly second or third best in the film (I'd probably place her behind Bale, Adams and maybe Cooper). Point is, they were all pretty damn good.
