Horror movies that scarred you as a child?

Postby mezee » Jul 18th, '14, 21:29

Recently re-watched some of The Ring. Seems absolutely stupid now, but as a child it definitely traumatized me.
Oh and Child's Play too, that shit was terrifying

I only have good memories of watching horror movies as a child.
My father,me and a friend used to take the bus to the city at the weekend and went to the video shop and rented Freddy Krueger and Friday the 13th videos in the mid 90`s.
My buddy and me watched them at night and used to count the kills in each movie,we considered the more people that got killed, the better the movie lol.
Jason was the shit back then.
Ahh good times :b:
Cry babies, maybe my way that i use words is loose

Well....I can't say I watched a lot if any real horror movies as a child but I have watched pretty much watched the whole kit and caboodle. I'd like to think I'm desensitized but I couldn't, for the life in me get through White Noise (2005)

I couldn't do it. I had to stop it. :(
"So one last time, I'm back, 'fore it fades into black and it's all over, behold the final chapter in the saga, trying to recapture that lightning trapped in a bottle twice, the magic that started it all...tragic portrait of an artist tortured....trapped in his own drawings..." - Bruce.

I saw the Japanese version of The Ring (Ringu) first on TV with subtitles and that scared the shit out of me but set me up for my love of horrors

Generally though, any The Hills Have Eyes films scare the fucking shit out of me

I loved x-flies as a kid, only the intro of the show would creep me out with the weird music and the images.

I was pretty desensitized to things by the time I started watching Horror Movies so I can't think of a specific one.
But I do remember when I was like 3 - even though it wasn't a Horror Movie - The Wicked Witch on The Wizard of Oz scared the shit out of me, I had a fear of witches for like 3 or 4 years afterwards, I used to have nightmares about them it was more more imagination but that prolly triggered it haha
