Agreed they'll make it out of the east. I just don't see them capable of making big enough changes to the roster to compete with the best of the west. I'll reassess after the offseason, and there's definitely some talent out there for them to tap into. With Lebron you always have a shot but I think the Spurs, as is, Thunder and even Clippers would be more likely to win a championship next year.
The situation for Wade will be interesting. I could see him taking less money if it means the team can get better. The reality is his performance was just not good enough, and he'd be killing the team opting in. Bosh also needs to reassess his game. Adding the jumper was a big step but he's too reluctant to force teams to guard him as the duel threat he could be. Not enough driving on his part when he's a very capable finisher around the rim. I also don't really think getting a big man is a big deal mostly because there's not much available. The great big men are locked in and the rest that are available wouldn't be adding much other than just a body.
This Heat team is facing a lot of questions going into the offseason, but Pat has the championship pedigree so I can't completely dismiss their chances to bring in young talent.
