Portuguese international Christiano Ronaldo who plays for Manchester United has been let out on police bail after an arrest on rape suspicion.
The superstar's agent has fiercely denied the claim, saying "As the investigations will demonstrate, these charges are not based on any credible facts and are clearly the product of the imagination and fantasy of the young lady."
Ronaldo turned up at a police station on Wednesday and was formally arrested. After several hours of interrogation, the 20-year-old football hero left the place.
The arrest came at a complaint from a woman who says she has been raped in a top London hotel.
The Sun newspaper says the victim was French. She and a friend met the Manchester United winger in a trendy bar. There was an older man with Ronaldo, believed to be a relative, the Sun says.
According to the report, both girls say they had been raped by Christiano and his companion.
On Wednesday, a man in his 30s was questioned alongside the footballer but was not arrested.
Ronaldo is understood to have told detectives he is "completely innocent".
Forensic scientists combed the room where the incident allegedly took place on Sunday, October 2, and CCTV footage from the hotel
