So why isn't the banner up?

I have the same question ,this shit sucks ,dayuum !

I really like OMEGA's banner, but I'm kind of a typophile and whenever I see unstable font or handwritten font it looks amateurish. I think if a stable font was used TRShady and a more erratic one for "The Eminem Project" it would balance out more, just like the BME album cover.

However, the BME cover still looks not so professional, they obviously didn't use their typical design firm, to lower costs. Some things look like someone on the internet made it, with a lens flare and flames lol.

I'll try and mock up something too.

Here's what I came up with so far. The long and skinny orientation makes it a little tricky, that's why I did the recovery one thicker, but I think this is pretty good so far. The first one is just the normal background, you can see that the lightest part is not centered, which is not too great looking. The second one I rendered to make it more symmetrical and lightened up the middle part.

I kind of have the same feeling as you, but at the same time, a banner is only supposed to "set the stage," and simplicity makes the most impact and makes it the most memorable because otherwise, then it just becomes hogwash. Professional design is usually much simpler than amateur work because the goal is to communicate and make an impression, whereas ammeters feel the need to overcompensate and load up the canvas with more and more stuff. Not to say there bad at it, it's just that they try to put too much art in areas where it really isn't needed. It comes down to determining the purpose.

This is what I did with the dimensions of the current banner. Spacing of the elements are a little off but eh, just mockups. I may want to up the brightness and contrast too.
