Automatic Image Resizing

Is this possible? For example when you post a 1000 x 1000 picture it gets reduced to a reasonable size so you can view the entire thing without having to right click & go the actual image? Other sites have this so I was wondering if it's possible to do it here as well.

What exactly do you mean by that? That the maximum resolution for the avatar changes to a higher value?
