That's not how it works, thank god.
It might sound like a great idea, until the guy behind that button is someone that doesn't agree with you. At least, that's the truth in theory. In practice, we have done such things in the past, and continue to do so in the war on terror. This guy isn't what you would call a traditional terrorist though, he's the leader of another country.
The problem with carrying out an assassination is what the blowback would be. It would build pressure against us from China, Russia, and Iran. It would also leave a power vacuum, that would likely be filled by someone in the North Korean military. The problem would not be solved, it would only be made worse.
What we have to do is continue this pissing contest, and wait for someone to make a move. We minimize the damage, and then respond with a crippling amount of force. That's the only way to proceed.
