What replenishable resources? Water? Water would have to be abundant to support life.

Anyway, surely it's easier to join two hydrogen atoms with an oxygen atom than traveling billions of light years. You would need some sort of teleportation to make the trip worth your time (no individuals of any species are living to billions of earth years of age). So a civilization with technology that advanced must surely be peaceful, or they would have destroyed themselves long before getting to earth.

Yeah, a race smart enough to travel so far would probably be peaceful.

Unless there's a malevolent underbelly I'm not aware about in our galaxy where one race rules the whole galaxy, is aware of our existence and is planning to invade to get our precious metals and water.
