Sad truth is, they are.
I know this girl, Ive known her since she was 9 years old...she's 13 now. She's been acting " grown " since age of 9. She is now " dating " a guy that's my age (which is 17). All he does is use her in the worse way possible. I'm not going to go into detail in what he does to with her exactly but the sad thing about it is that she KNOWS and she's AWARE of everything he is doing/saying to her. She just enjoys being used by him. it's like one of those Maury Show cases, those outta control teens :shakehead:

No. Most of them will remain a "kid" even as an adult. And people nowadays has a very low emotional intelligence. But there's something why..

I think the media affects kids in a bad way. Almost all movies shows gays, lesbians and two people having sex while they barely know each other. But kids think that's normal since you can see these scenes in many movies, adverts. Cigarettes, alcohol, drugs sex. You can find these in the media always.

so I blame the media, the parents who are lazy to raise their kids and take care of them properly.

If the media was different.. the kids would be different as well. If they see the good examples and seeing that everybody is doing it, they would do the same. Why? Take a look at the world.. If a 15years old girl sees her parents and her classmates smoking all day and she has no self-control at all she will follow them.

now about parent and kid relationships.. If the parents are trash and they suck at being a parent most likely their kids will be a bad parent as well. Cuz they saw how were they raised and they think it's ok. This would happen in most cases unless the kid notices that his parents bad.

And one more thing.. I think the humanity is starting to lose their faith, and the ONLY thing that matters is money.

It seems money is more important than love.. And I think cause of this many of us are selfish and reckless. I'd even say they only care about themself. Anyway.. sorry for this long post. it takes time to read it :sweating: ;)

yes they are, but I blame parenting, which is lacking. the problems, in part, but largely are due to what kids have access to in regards to the media, entertainment, video games, etc. parenting needs to improve, and thats why these kids see things they shouldn't, and are allowed to act the way they do.

I think there has always been and will always be some mature and some immature/careless kids in every generation. When we are actually at that age, it's easier for us to see that the immature ones don't necessarily represent the majority of the age group. However, when we grow older and look at the younger kids, the loud, and immature kids are the ones that catch our attention, and we choose to believe that they represent most of the kids their age. Maybe the ratio of mature and immature kids has fluctuated over time in favour of the immature ones, but the mature kids are still there.

For example, I remember when, in grade 10, my friend told me how many boys in our grade smoked weed- it blew my mind. Or when she told me how many of our classmates weren't virgins- again :o . It's just that the kids that aren't messed up don't really catch peoples attention- their kind of invisible.

Oh, and by immature I mean obnoxious, arrogant, impulsive, and careless.

Agree 100%

I actually think the responsible kids are even MORE responsible today - thanks to the internet. The web seems to act as a tool to integrate people of all ages... People who are young get an opportunity to communicate with older, more mature people. Thanks to Web 2.0 (facebook, blogs, message boards, etc), kids have the opportunity to learn and mature at an unprecedented pace... unfortunately, its still a choice.

They also have the choice to smoke pot and bang :shakehead:
