I just happen to believe that a divine being is the only sensible answer to many questions. Would you say that Stephen Hawking and Albert Einstein didn't use common sense? they both have acknowledge that a god is possible.

Did I say they brainwash you? Didn't think so.
They use it to control you, and yes they are using it to control even you. It's just a huge example of "be good or Santa won't get you any presents." "Be good or you'll go to hell." Religion is just a way to make people behave.
