Not really... I'd only be emotional in those situations if I knew the victim, or I was the victim myself. I think if he doesn't value life he doesn't deserve it. It's that simple for me really. There is no point keeping him or Martin Bryant or anyone like that in a cell forever. It's ridiculous to waste the resources on him tbh.

And your argument about wiping out Africa is totally different. How can you justify killing Osama just because he would be hard to capture. So to you, it isn't their crime that warrants death it's how hard it would be to capture them?

If you send a violent criminal to jail they can (and do) continue to rape/kill on the inside. Isn't that still dangerous or is that ok because they are all criminals?

Jail by no means stops people from being a danger.

My only concern with that is, if you've raped a girl and you're gong to get the death penalty you'd just go ahead and murder her and dispose of the evidence, right? Why the hell would you let her live if the punishment was just as severe as rape and then murder?

I think it's better for the victim in the moment if rape is punished lighter than murder.

Most people don't suddenly start mudering people because they get away with it. But yeah I agree that the punishment should be less severe as murder is worse.

No but if you rape a girl she can dob you in and get swabbed and tested for DNA and all that jazz. If you know you're GOING TO DIE if that happens, you'd kill her and take your chances.

I agree but what if they rape several children, should they die?

I would say yes but that would by my irrational emotional side saying it. Someone like that should rot in jail getting daily beatings from hardened criminals. And that's purely objective.
