Am I the only one that thinks there is no way to tell either way? There is no substantial evidence of an eternal soul. There is scientific proof brain function controls the consciousness of the living mind. However, there is no proof in anything after death, therefore you cannot conclude in the theory of "you to turn to dirt, nothing else". Perhaps it is true, but there is no way to know. Maybe we are simultaneously living in other universes, and death brings us to one.

That was my point. It probably isn't 50/50, you're right. Some may say the chances are 99.99999% against a greater purpose, others may say 99.9999% that there is some greater power, but either way, I am 100% sure, that nobody is 100% sure.

i assume the truth people would refer to is simply the idea of the supernatural so-to-speak. it goes against everything we know that's true and therefore would be considered false. That's how i see it anyway and how I assume other atheists would be seeing it.

Regardless of all the true theories and science i'm just awe-struck by existence, think about it and you'll fuck your self up a little too.

That being said I believe there is something, however i'm not tied to any religion, especially one that condones slavery and the hatred of people due to their choices in life and preferences and natural born tendencies.

I'm an Agnostic Theist. I believe there is something out there that has or does exist. The universe started from something billions of years ago. Something had to come first. How the first thing was created is the biggest mystery we'll ever have, though. There's no point in even trying to understand it, because we never will. I respect others who have deep beliefs. It keeps a lot of people sane, that's for sure. I know one thing for sure, though. There has been a lot of bizarre, unexplained phenomena since the beginnings of human time.

We are all made of the same stuff. Think about who you are and what you experience. Why are you here? How come out of all the people it is ''you'' who is experiencing being you? Now think about what I'm saying before you start thinking to yourself, what a retarded question.

Point is this ''you'' has already been created once. How many people are there in this world? Billions. So there are billions of people who also experience reality. So why would billions of people only experience life one time? How do you know some didn't have 2 or 3 past lives as someone else, even though they still experienced it in first person view?

There is a limited amount of substance in this universe, but energy is infinite. So how can you conclude that this is your only life, and billions of others only lived once and that future people have not lived before? Out of billions of people, you don't believe that any one of them has ever experienced reality before they were born?

Now after you've thought about that, why are we here even ONE time? Why not ZERO times. What makes it possible for every one of us to have been born this one time? Point I'm making is if it could happen even once, that means it can happen again. If it can happen again, it can again and again. If it can happen again and again, it can happen again and again and again. If it can happen again and again and again, it can happen again and again and again and again. Hope I haven't lost you.

But if you're going to argue that it's not possible to happen twice, then why is it possible to happen even once?
