Fox News

What do people have against Fox News Network. Its a conservative slanted network because there are nothing but liberal networks ie ABC, NBC, MSNBC, CNN, HLN, and CBS. So even if they report slanted toward conservative veiws, the liberal stations most definately outweigh it.

I tend to agree. Every news station is slanted one way or the other to an extent. I don't think Fox is that different than any of the other ones, it's just the fact that it leans to the right as opposed to the other stations leaning to the left.

Theres also a difference between commentators and the reporting of the actual news also. When you listen to Sean Hannity you don't expect him to be fair and in the middle. He's a conservative talking about conservative issues to a conservative audience. Because in the end it's a business and Fox would go out of business if they filled their airtime with liberal commentators that bashed conservative principles 24/7.

I kind of got off topic but I agree with you that the rep it gets is unfair when other news stations never seem to get questioned. That's just my opinion, but I don't watch the news on tv that much so maybe I'm missing it completely.

Fox News' slant tends to be a little over the top

It's difficult to watch news channels these days because of the slanted views each station has, and I hate that. I guess the only way to really get what you want or need to know is to watch 2 stations with opposing views and then make up your own mind, or research shit then yourself :y:

The news is definitely used as a tool to convince the viewers that a certain perspective is right (presumably the perspective of those who own the media). I think the best way to see how biased these stations really are, is to see the news that is put out by outlets that completely disagree with the mainstream news. That is very hard though because they are probably in a different language or banned in the country. Blogs & youtube, etc. are able to get around this to a certain extent but only a minute fraction of people are exposed to that kind of news in comparison to the mainstream news. After studying both sides, it may become extremely obvious to notice the blatant tactics news media can use to project a certain perspective. It's not just the news though, it's TV shows, documentaries, movies, music, advertisements, etc...

I don't mind Fox, heck I check it. It is good, though to check a number of news sites/channels.

I check Fox, MSN, BBC, and CNN if anyone cares. Those are the more public ones I use.

Aside from local news and elections, I don't utilize any American channel for news. I think they're all too biased :sweating:

Every station is going to be biased but Fox is just uncalled for. The White House, if I remember correctly, doesn't even honor them as a new source and didn't let them appear at some interviews a while back.

I don't think any conservatives hate them, mainly just the liberals which control the rest of the media so it appears that "everyone" hates them.

Either way I don't care.

I don't mind Fox because the majority of networks are liberal.

Are there any neutral news stations?
