Eminem may not be the best rapper but what Kanye said was true "Nobody will ever be Bigger than Eminem". In US and may be Europe Drake might be popular but in Indian subontinent he is just another artist. The amount Em sold and still sells is phenomenal. Linkin Park were big too when MMLP was released with Hybrid Theory, Meteora etc. but look at there sales now. Even there Ice bucket challenge went unnoticed while Eminem's was most liked and viewed among music artists. He crossed a million likes on FB. Drake's music though i like it is not nearly as impactful as Em's stuff on SSLP, MMLP, TES. Infact even musically very less rappers can do better. Drake gets in the news for things about his thing with rihanna etc. rather than his music. Em's got an academy award and Lose yourself has been quoted and used as promotional events or covered by so many artists i don't think Drake has equalled even Lose yourself with the amount of impact through his music. Eminem is an artist to be remembered for decades, Drake may remain relevant for like 10 years that also if he continues making music. Kanye is huge, has had impact but again Eminem brought Rap to many countries, made it popular. Many people know about Tupac in asia only because of Eminem.

Calm down. I was talking about the 00s and comparing Em to every others artists that came around 00s (hip hop/pop/whatever) and I thought he was the one who made the biggest impact/influence.

I honestly don't have a problem with anyone saying that if we are talking about music, as Kanye is easily one of the most influential artists of that decade as well. Anyone who denies that is an idiot. Eminem dominated the first half of the decade and Kanye took over the rest and changed hip-hop music.

See I don't understand why this wouldn't actually make him more prone to being looked-into, same goes for people like gambino, eyedea, tech & krizz etc. these appear to me to be the most intriguing acts hiphop has produced thus far, i mean that's what initially attracts me is just wanting to know exactly what the fuck i'm hearing/looking at, and then becoming a fan in the process of learning.

i did notice however that the mainstream culture started to accept weirder stuff when yeezus happened, but that didn't end up being as successful as i'd hoped, and didn't last long. it's weird, it seems like what fans want is the most generic, hollow, soul-less shit possible. that's why pseudo-parody acts like lil b and riff-raff are breathtakingly successful, as well as the acts they're parodies of.
