If you look at plenty underground rappers (especially rappers in the modern battle scene), you'll see Eminem's influence in all of their writing.

Mac Lethal, Hopsin, 360, Copywrite, Kid Twist, Dumbfoundead, NoCanDo, Real Deal, Fresco, The Saurus, Illmaculate, Justice, Purpose, Prime, Anecdote, Masta Ace, Dizaster, Charron, Pat Stay, Hollohan, Marlo, Shuffle T...the list goes on. These guys are all Stans and have studied Eminem's old lyricism to develop their own style.

Anyone who denies that is an idiot. Eminem dominated the first half of the decade and Kanye took over the rest and changed hip-hop music.

And for fuck's sake, can we have a discussion without acting retarded? The forum is going to keep going to shit if we keep it up.....

Everything seemed to work right for Kanye. Eminem and Jay Z went on a retirement within a year of eachother, which gave Kanye an open lane.

Nobody will match Eminem, but what RapGOD said was pretty ignorant.

Kanye and Wayne took Em and Jay's place back then tbh, that's why their influence is so apparent in these younger rappers. Jay did fit in when he returned, as his music is much more accessible to Kanye fans (for obvious reasons) and Wayne fans. Eminem went left field with Relapse and then enjoyed some time being in good graces with the general mainstream fan base due to his features in late 2009/early 2010.... but when he applied that formula to an album, it didn't work too well for him imo, at least artistically as the album did wonders for him commercially... it's still the best selling hip-hop album of the last 9 years.

And yea, RapGOD was sounding like the typical youtuber....

I agree with everything you said though, you just need to get your points across in a better way.... it's easy to pin new members into certain categories.

Wow it goes to show you that Eminem's influence transcends music genres. Never would have guessed Usher was influenced by Eminem. Another poster even posted an article about Elle Varner being influenced by Eminem as well.

^ It actually does.
And language barriers also.
I used to tell people that practically every rapper whose first language isn't English was either influenced by Eminem or Pac.
Or the movie 8 Mile.
I can say this somewhat confidently because I speak English as a second language.

it's not that it's not true, it's that it's not worth noting. in fact it would be more notable if eminem only managed to influence other musicians and nothing beyond that, it's a given that people are influenced by musical artists, that's why music works in the first place.

I think the reason it's being noted is because certain people on here and others shrug him off like he hasnt been that influential. Which simply isnt true. So for that reason I feel It's worth noting.
