I wanna start a really serious discussion here. (Excuse me for my spelling mistakes, english is not my native language).
So here's "Guts over fear". Maybe it's just me, but it seems like the start of something new in the history of Shady. I mean MC's not often shows their "soft" side, or wathever. Em called himself a king, a god, and now he revealed that he still struggling with shit like how to bring something new. It's so honest, and I like it, it just makes him more "human" to me. But he says in GOF that he don't wanna make another We Made You, and that line goes deeper than I first thought. Correct me if I'm wrong, but to me, it means he wanna make songs with deeper meaning, he's done with the funny "first singles" (Not Afraid, and Berzerk proves that aswell). In my opinion We Made You is a perfect song, it didn't bring the worldpeace or anything, but after I drank some liqour with my friends, it was one hell of a song to listen to. (My neighbours were happy, or maybe not )
But whats more important is the line "And it just breaks my heart to look at all the pain I caused". Being offensive was a part of Eminem's daily job, does that mean he will stop with that aswell? Can you picture an Eminem album without punchlines about Michael J. Fox, or rapping about violence and shit like that? Would you like that?
For me, I'd be completely satisfied with an Eminem album with full of songs like GOF, When I'm gone, or Lose yourself, but could he still keep the attention he gets now?
And maybe it's just me, but sometimes I feel like GOF is like a beginning of Em saying goodbye. It's 15 years since he began, SHADYXV could be the end of something. Or do you think it's the beginning of someting new? If yes, what?
An artist from Hungary (where I live) said that "the most intresting thing about art is when a young person goes against something. The struggle. Nobody cares about a wise old man, it's not art anymore". You know what I'm talkin about.
So how you see the future of Eminem?
