As the days tick by, the sales forecast for Taylor Swift's 1989 album continues to grow.

As of Nov. 1, with only one full day left in the album's debut tracking week, industry forecasters now say 1989 could sell over 1.3 million copies through Nov. 2.

1989 is also set to earn the largest sales week for any album since 2002, when Eminem's The Eminem Show sold 1.322 million in its first full week on sale.

I think TES sold 1.28 million on its full week?
The record she is aiming for is the highest debut week by a female artist which was held previously by Britney Spears...

Billboard is talking in general, because is comparing the sales of the first week of 1989 with also the sales of the first week of Britney Spears album Oops! … I Did It Again, which was released on 2000.

1) the album is now aiming to surpass the one-week sales record for an album by a woman, set by the debut of Britney Spears' Oops! … I Did It Again in 2000, when it arrived with 1.319 million.

2) 1989 is also set to earn the largest sales week for any album since 2002, when Eminem's The Eminem Show sold 1.322 million in its first full week on sale.

I dont understand the part of "surpass the one-week sales record for an album by a woman", that is pretty stupid . And i dont understand also why specifically "largest sales week for any album since 2002".

If you say something like "1989 is about to break The Eminem Show first week sales record" i would understand, but i dont see the point of Billboard.

But Eminem's record is not with TES.. It's with MMLP :confusion: there maybe something I'm not getting lol. But that's fucking amazing to sell those numbers in 2014.

This album probably would've broken NSYNC's No Strings Attached 2.4M record back in 2000
