Detroit rapper Obie Trice has reportedly severed ties with Eminem's Shady Records.

Obie's manager, Terry Wilson, revealed to Allhiphop Monday (June 30) that the break-up between Shady and Obie was amicable and that the rapper is launching his own label called World Wide Hustle,

“Obie and Shady were moving in different directions,” explained Wilson. “But he still has a great relationship with Shady Records. He has some big plans for his World Wide Hustle label.”

Obie dropped a song titled “Giant” yesterday (June 29) which speaks on his departure from Shady Records. Obie implies that Shady’s parent company, Interscope, is the main reason for his departure. [Download "Giant"]

Obie was signed to Shady/Interscope for eight years and released two albums, Cheers and Second Round’ s On Me. He is currenlty working on his third album titled Bottoms Up

eminem fucked up in allowing this to happen, although interscope woulda had most the power in letting him leave or dropping him (since we dont know witch is was) eminem should have made sure it didnt happen, he was the only guy on the label who could come close to em's lyrical ability and i still think he could make the sales bad luck and bad promotion is all that fucked him up before he still had the ability to do it.

i hope a big realiable label picks him up and he blows up with a big fuck you finger waved at shady records

noooo. 50 is leaving but he's doing that by serving up his contract ,not actually dropping from the label. 50 has made countless statments in interviews how he plans to drop his last album then following that just release a greatest hits cd so his 5 album contract can come to an end. So in a way yes 50 is going 2 be gone aswell. But wat u mean if he leaves Gunit leaves? Gunits not even on shady, and the group is fucked up enough as it is with all this stuff to do with young buck so i doubt it'd make a difference
