I love metal and rock since I was young. I enjoy the lead guitars and solos, as well as the rhythm guitar parts in bands like Metallica, Iron Maiden and early Sepultura. I like just about everything as far as rock/metal goes, but nu metal is probably my least favorite sub-genre of metal, but I do enjoy a few bands [Korn, Slipknot]. I really enjoy 80s thrash and hair metal, 70s classic rock [Kiss, particularly Ace Frehley, were influential in me playing guitar], Norwegian black metal, death metal [Death, Entombed, Cannibal Corpse, etc.] and so on.
I like tons of metal, so much so it'd probably take a book to list and talk about all of the bands I like, however, I read through the last couple pages of this thread [5-6 pages] and wasn't really feeling a whole lot of what people were saying. I disliked Chaos A.D. [Beneath the Remains and Arise were thrash metal classics from a band that wasn't apart of the big 4], Coal Chamber and Mudvayne aren't that interesting to me, Mars Volta and Opeth don't catch my attention, I don't think Superjoint is the best Phil Anselmo band, and I'm sure there's probably something I forgot, but you get the idea. I just wanted to get these outta the way in one post so I don't have multiple negative posts about this and that about stuff that doesn't appeal to me.
Anyways, anyone a fan of 80s thrash, Kiss or Alice Cooper? Also, what do you think of rock/metal in rap songs?
