John Mayer, Opinions?

Any fans here? or people who have a heard a song or two?

I've recently been listening to his music, it's a nice change from Hip-Hop tbh.

He's an excellent guitar player no doubt. His music is too generic and boring for me to really enjoy, although I understand the appeal for some.

I like some of his music, it's a nice change of pace actually. Sometimes it's nice to stop and smell the roses, so to speak.

he's a great guitarist, I have all his albums, I've been listening to him for years, he's also a good writer (not great, I notice that when I listen to him I often edit his lyrics, lol), his music is not generic at all, maybe some of the singles his label pushed him to do are not great (e.g. Wonderland) but to be honest he is great, better than so many mainstream artists, every album is different and interesting.

He's a good guitarist, that's about as far as I'll go to praise him. I don't really like his music or voice.

I really used to like his stuff when I was kid. I recently tried to get into his newest album, but couldn't tbh.

His older albums are better than the more recent ones, but they're still not bad. His Continuum album is possibly my favorite album in any genre of music, and no JM's music hasn't just been a "phase" for me. He's definitely at his best with the blues vibe though.

Seen him live in concert twice and he was pretty much my inspiration to pick up a guitar.
