Linkin Park and Steve Aoki were both headlineing the Summer Sonic music festival in Japan earlier today. During Steve Aoki's performance, Chester and Mike from Linkin Park came on the stage and performed a brand new song titled 'A Light That Never Comes'. The song won't be a part of Linkin Park's next album, as confirmed by Mike Shinoda (@mikeshinoda) on Twitter here. The song won't be released on iTunes, but will be unlockable content after beating Linkin Park's newest Facebook game, Linkin Park Recharge which should be avaliable any day now.

I've been a fan since day 1, and although they're constantly changing and evolving their sound, I still remain a fan and am excited to hear what they've been cooking up. I've always said that Mike Shinoda is one of the most underrated/underappreciated lyrical talents of this century; the dude's got a gift for speaking from the heart and getting a message across.

Tbh I like this song a lot. Very catchy and I'm sure Chester will sound better on the studio version. Mike's sounding better than ever, can't wait for the studio version.

^It is very good but I don't want it to be on the album either. Not because I don't enjoy it, but because it's not what I want on a Linkin Park album.

It leaked but LP's management wants all links taken down so more people would play the game. It's okay. Changed a lot from the studio version.
