My high school teacher once told me this, I found it interesting.
It starts with this...
There is a pond with lilly pads, and the pond gets lilly pads for an entire month (30 days). The catch is each day it doubles.
So day 1 there is one lilly pad, day 2 there are 2, day 3 there are 4, day 4 there are 8 and so on...
Then you're asked, at what day is the pond half full?
Now reading and being told then asked this are much different, but people always react and say day 15, because it is half of 30. When obviously the day the pond's half full is day 29.
The point of this is about overpopulation, that it took 29 DAYS just for the pond to be half full, and then only one day for it to be full.
I always thought it was interesting, and thought I'd share
