Blackquill wrote:False problem imo. Recovery gave Eminem a new influx of fans at the time. Why is it wrong for an artist to cater primarily to their existing fanbase especially when it remains massive even after taking a cut? The whole "boring, nothing new" angle isn't valid criticism, it comes from an obsession with reinventing the wheel and with an alleged need to redefine everything with each release. You know there is something fundamentally wrong when such a thing becomes an expectation rather than something that is welcome and applauded after it actually happens.

This is true. But, I'm one of those who feel like Eminem has the skills to be regarded as a great artist across genres, not just a great rapper. For example, songs like LY transcend the genre.

And the other point is that to maintain longevity, you need to gain more fans than you lose. The competition is stiff since new artists are more exciting, and the world follows a trend. If the trend is now to say "Eminem is an old man with nothing to say", then he would lose fans quickly.

Where does Eminem go from here? Shady 15 was fresh. Anyone who says otherwise is full of it and needs it handed to them. People who constantly bash Eminem after hearing this just never change. They are the ones who are getting lame and tiring to deal with.

Seriously though, Eminem has really perfected this new flow. He tried the same in Won't Back Down and it was still a work in progress. Now it seems like he has mastered this new, over the top, fast paced flow.

And you know what? Fuck subject matter! NOOOO other artist in the world has to worry about what they rap about! Eminem already told us his life!!!!!!!!!! Rap is supposed to be about fun!!!!! And this album is FUN, deal with it!!! Why can't Eminem just keep making fun real hip hop songs like this???? Isn't this what it's all about? What gives? Deal with it, get over it, accept it!!!!!!!!!
Da MEDIA made into me a modern-day Genghis KHAN AT aint NO GAME DOG!
