It explains the story of the two personalities well (Dave and Dave's brother). The way he kills Dave's brother off, just before the end of the verse, is incredibly effective.

I also like the underlying feeling of the hopelessness, almost to suggest that both the characters have no hope of making it out.

Also how Keisha's sister dies from HIV/Aids from a life of prostitution, is deep as fuck. Kendrick walks away from her, when she needed help the most.

Swimming Pools and Sing About Me, I'm dying of thirst, are key songs on the album.

That first verse hit the spirit like no other. He dropped one of the best flows of this variation, all time on this record. Plus, the content and how it is arranged is a thing of beauty.
