WARNING: TOO MUCH STANNIRY IN THIS POSTS

Eminem wins easily.

What stories has jay told?

The Hood,The Po Po,The NIKKAZ!!!!,The Coke.

That aint shit to what Em has talked about.

Sing For The Moment > Jay's Storytelling

Rock Bottom > Jay's Life

Stay Wide Awake > Jay's Skill

 ,this isnt even fair, comparing a meh rapper to Eminem.

*Stan out*

not hating on jay,he has some cool songs, some play in the clubs, hes dope, but hes like the 4 loko next to the scotch.

oh and RENEGADE,LOL EM KILLED THAT SHIT!
The devil ain't on a level same as him!

Jay-Z's discography is slightly better than Em's. Through 96 & 04 Jay-Z was as untouchable as Eminem in his prime. Don't take credit away from one of the best and most influential Hip-Hop artists of all time.

I'm starting to think that people hate on Jay because so many people give him so much props, it's wrong to hate on him because people love him. And Jay has only had ONE BAD album and that is The Blueprint 3, that isn't as bad as people make it out to be.

With that said Em > Jay overall and as a storyteller. But, SMH @ most posts in this thread :facepalm

EDIT: just to add

Eminem had the 2 best verses on Jay-z's best album.... :coffee:

I'll break it down:

Reasonable Doubt > SSLP
In My Lifetime < MMLP
Hard Knock Life < TES
Life And Times Of S. Carter > Encore
The Dynasty (it was more of a collabo album so I won't count it).
The Blueprint > Relapse
The Blueprint 2 < Recovery

The Black Album is better than everything except MMLP & TES.
Kingdom Come sucks.
American Gangster is a great album.
The Blueprint 3 is a poor album.

3-3.

Jay-Z has 3 classics, Em has 2 classics and 1 amazing, near classic albums. I'm gonna rank 'em

MMLP
Reasonable Doubt
The Blueprint
TES
The Black Album
SSLP.

Em has 1 bad album, Encore. Jay has 1 bad album, Kingdom Come. Kingdome Come > Encore.

Em has 2 good/great albums, Recovery & Relapse. Jay-Z has the rest of his discography in this category. I'm gonna rank them.

Recovery
In My Lifetime
Hard Knock Life
Relapse
American Gangster.

According to this (my opinion) Em has the better album overall but the worst album overall too. Jay-Z has a bigger discography so take that into consideration.

Discography-wise: Jay > Em.

But, overall Em > Jay. ALL THIS IS MY OPINION OF COURSE.

Jay's good, not great and one of the most overrated rappers of all time

Em's first three albums destroys anything Jay has put out. And Recovery wipes its ass with BP3

This is kind of a retarded way to compare the two. Comparing The Blueprint to Relapse straight up? Uh...the two albums came out 7 years apart in two completely different eras in rap.

In their primes, Jay-Z was awesome...better than Nas, Tupac, Big Pun, Rakim, and Big L (though he wasn't alive long enough to do much.) But Eminem was simply a God from 1997-2002. What he did during that time period dwarfs anything anyone has ever done in rap music. He actually got to the point of dominating music as a whole, not just his own genre. Jay-Z has never even come close to that and I know race plays a part, but I digress...

Encore sucks, but TB3 is almost on the same level. Jay-Z and Eminem have both been washed up since (roughly) the same point in time, actually. Jay-Z was better in 2003, but Eminem has been easily outclassing Jay-Z since his comeback.

Oh, and though Reasonable Doubt is one of my favorite albums...TSSLP destroys it. Not even a contest. It's comparing a very very very dope album to a perfect album.

:y: :y: :y:

The Oscar just goes to show it. Dont think any other rapper has done that and i can only see T.I going there.

Altho, most people use the 97-'02 period, isnt it 99-'03?! I mean, TES was hot for a LONG time and Infinite only sold like 70 records.
