I wouldn't seem like such a grave digger if there weren't so few topics in here. Funeral anyone? :flower:

I wish I could. I've never had to reassure myself that It was all a dream. If you're interested in this then you might find what the Tibetan Monks can do with their level of spirituality.

Lastnight I had my first lucid dream since I was about 12. I dreamt that I was in downtown Houston, and it was cloudy/gloomy, but still warm. And I remember being the only one in the city. And since I knew that I was dreaming, I tried to fly. So I started running and I jumped one time, then I jumped again and I went a little higher, then the 3rd time I went even higher until eventually I was flying.

What amazed me the most about the dream was how every square inch of the city was rendered in my dream. Every grain on the sidewalks, absolutely everything was present. I could even smell. It was absolutely incredible -- I only wish I could go back :'(

What?!?! No, this has never happened to me. I WISH! That sounds awesome!

That's what Im thinking. Ive been going through some steps for like a month to have one but I just never get them. Im jealous. Anybody here got any tips?
It's all about convincing your mind. All a lucid dream is, is your subconscious mind (where your dreams are normally produced) connecting a communicating with your conscious mind, and allowing your conscious mind to take the wheel.

So it helps to do things like while you're trying to go to sleep, think about taking control of the dream you have, and do that throughout the day as well. Ever notice how some times you dream about major things that are going on in your life? Make it one of those things, and it will bring itself to life when you go to sleep.

[Dreams removed, pointless anyway]

Another phenomenon I've experienced several times is Sleep Paralysis. This is the scariest thing that can ever happen to you! What basically happens is your mind wakes up but your body doesn't. Usually because you haven't completed your sleep cycle. So you know you're awake but you can't move a single inch of your body other than eyelids; you can barely breathe. Even worse, elements of the dream you just had can also start appearing in your room. Unfortunately, in most cases, the reason why your sleep is interrupted like that is nightmares. So you're awake, you can't breathe properly or move, and then you start seeing the things in your nightmare around you. I simply can't write in text how scary that experience is!

Dreams are funny cuz...even though they are profound and mean alot to you..they (the actual dreams an details of the dream), dont mean shit to anybody else. Id go as far as to say most people actually "dislike" hearing about other peoples dreams in detail.

You guys know you can train you ability to have lucid dreams, right? :flower:

A couple things you can do:

*Write down the things you dream about
*Use something, an item, tree or whatever, as a... how do you say... "reality check".Pick something and then look at it regularly. Then you can look at it to tell whether you're dreaming or not.

I've decided to do this to try and see if I can start having lucid dreams. I might've had some, but not that I can remember.
