Well....so you're telling me that every single smart person in the country won't want to have kids or will want to have kids with a dumb one? Yeah right lol, and I already said the population will go down a little bit, that's expected, but there's nothing wrong with that.

You're right. Your plan is perfect exactly as it is. It is a fantastic debate strategy to dismiss criticism with a quick "lol" and assertion that you are right. You have a long future as a Republican ahead of you.

You haven't said anything good that would be against my plan

Haven't really read through this topic but finally something interesting to discuss on serious debate :y: :y: :y:

Eugenics is a very interesting topic. I see nothing wrong with carefully selecting parents with good genetic traits in order to develop children that are stronger, smarter, and healthier. The war against our genetic flaws is not about discriminating against certain groups of people because of the way they look or because of their low I.Q’s. Obviously no gene causes intelligence. It is about looking beyond the surface of a person and seeing the human body for what it really is. It is about being in control of the chemistry within us. Creating the ideal human being is no different than mixing the correct chemicals in a beaker to get the chemical reaction that you desire(Not as easy as it sounds). It certainly is possible to reduce some traits in the gene pool which are clearly related to single defective genes, but we can't improve the gene pool that requires knowing the future stress that humans will be subjected too(Sadly)

I think this world would be a better place if eugenics was practiced by the majority of the human population. Unfortunately a large percentage of the human population believes that eugenics is unethical because the word is usually associated with the Nazis and forced sterilizations.

But class are these people with high IQs going to be outside raising crops? We have seen instances where genius' have been born into families of low class criminals, drug addicts. Also that Stephen Hawking guy? This is the problem I see in all this but make no mistake in the next 50 years we will see our first genetically superior humans that were created through either genetic engineering or selective breeding. :y:

So you'd be cool with the knowledge that the government can totally control your body, just as long as it doesn't actually apply to you directly? You consider yourself above the people that you would condemn to have their genes stolen from their balls by the clutches of the government? What happens when the criteria gets wider for what is deemed unacceptable (which it inevitably would; if they can stop you doing one thing, they would quickly see they can make you obey them completely and put this weapon to good use) and it begins to affect maybe not you but people you know? You still be cool with it?

Who are you, and indeed who is the government, to judge what is acceptable? Now I'm not familiar with these situations, but i'm sure there's cases out there where entering parenthood has positive effects on the people. Plus, this whole theory seems to go off the idea that if you don't do bad shit from birth to age 21, then you never will. I didn't realise there was a cutoff point for bad behavior. I mean shit I myself didn't even smoke till long after I turned the legal 18 over here in the UK, if that was the criteria we were going off then I would have been desterilised, even though I could easily now go buy a pack and smoke them all in my baby's face.

I'm not saying make it a hard test just make it so that like the bottom 15-20% of the population can't pass.

And I find this absolutely disgusting. Yeah fuck those guys man! They have the gall to live in shittier conditions than us, I don't want their spawn polluting up my nice clean air! Bottom 15-20% lol, as though people are ranked in percentage. Based on what, exactly? Being poor? So being poor means you don't deserve the same things as a middle class guy? Or is it maybe committing crime? Implying rich people don't break laws?

This sounds great on paper, but would be terrible in practice.

Especially in a country like the United States, where education and health care can be so disproportionate in certain areas of the nation. "Stupid" people would not be able to breed? Why are they stupid? Is it because of their genes, or is it because of their education?

Then, perhaps, we should even the standard. Every school is the same, every hospital the same. Then everyone gets a fair shot, right? Sure, but maybe the standard is fucked.

Say, perhaps, Trent Lott sets the bar. I'm sure that the world we would be looking at would be full of generations learning that evolution is false and that the South never really lost the American Civil War. Or say you had some one like Nancy Pelosi deciding what was taught. Again, it would be radically different from the previously described scenario, but is that a good thing?

My point is that in order to make everything fair, you'd have to set a standard, and the problem with that is the fact that very few people would be in charge of setting that standard. Maybe hip hop would be deemed an unacceptable art form in the new schools. Maybe art in general would be deemed a useless and unproductive activity. See the problem?

In order to decide who breeds and who doesn't, there must be a standard. In order for that standard to be met fairly, the odds have to be equal for everyone in the country. In order for that to happen, a relatively small group of people will be deciding what belongs in our country and what does not. That doesn't leave a lot of room for existential dissension.

...and all of that shit Kez said too.

I would be president, and I would set the standard.

And yes I would be fine with doing any of that to anyone. People are in the shithole for a reason. You don't find people with degrees sleeping on park benches.

The point is that your standard would most likely be fucked, judging from some of your calloused statements. A person's worth isn't decided by the size of their income, at least not to me. I would argue that it has more to do with the lives you touch and the meaningful connections you make.

I suppose you didn't. I was thinking that your comments would be particularly disparaging to poor people, but that's not the point of your argument. In that case, replace "income" with "I.Q." and re-read my previous post. I think it's still valid. While eugenics is a worthwhile subject of speculation, I think that the ramifications of such a thing are too great to merit pursuing it. The best thing, in my opinion, would be better education and healthcare to educate the young and treat the ill, including the mentally unstable who otherwise may become the people on benches you mentioned before.

Amadeo wrote:Western societies today separate the classes according to intelligence in a much more subtle way than what you're proposing.

The lower class is going to get too angry in your system. They'll throw a temper tantrum that a government can only really deal with by going Nazi Germany on their ass.

That's why the second phase of my plan is getting rid of this pussy judicial system. They want to fight against the government, bam, they're killed on spot.

@AI, some people are just fuck ups no matter what, no amount of education is going to fix that. I live in a pretty above average city with great education and there are still about 15-20 I would fucking sterilize. They're just lazy and stupid as fuck.
