You're saying if your family isn't fucked up, it's impossible for God to love you more.
Damn, you completely misunderstood what I said there. I meant that, saying "God loves us even more than our mothers can" means something if you don't have a fucked-up family. Telling someone who gets molested by their mum that God loves them more than she does won't really mean anything. In a fucked-up family, a mother's love is probably in-existent.

You know that isn't the best way to go about convincing someone to join Christianity or any other religion. Ok, fine someone created me! If not God, then who? Ehh, maybe Allah or Zeus or another higher entity that's too big to really give a shit what microscopic specks in the universe do with their time. Since you'll reply to "who created God then?" with God! Here's another possibility, what if we were Gods and we simply created ourselves? Isn't that along the lines of Buddhism or something? So no, it's not common sense... Anything/anyone could have created us, not necessarily the God talked about in the bible.
So it still comes down to, I've seen the ups of joining a religion and no downs. That's how I ended up being a (semi-)Christian. I call myself semi since
1. I don't believe in heaven/hell since it contradicts the fundamentals of having an all caring & loving God.
2. I don't think Christianity is the "right" religion (Back to that later). So I can't "Spread The Word" like I'm required to.
small additions:
- I see nothing wrong with drinking if you it's kept under control.
- I'm not against premarital sex if the people are willing to face any consequences (STDs, Baby, etc).
So to clarify, I believe in religion; be it Christianity, Islam, Buddhism, Hinduism, Satanism, etc... So long as you are comfortable with it. Why did I choose Christianity? Simple, my parents are Christian so it's the first religion I got introduced to. If there comes a time when it's no longer helping me with life and getting harder to believe, I will convert to a religion more suitable.
