Well, In California we've got special rules. You can pretty much smoke weed legally but you need to get a Medical Card first. They give that away like nothing, they even give it to you if you say you are an alcoholic. So to me I'm indifferent, but if it becomes legal, I'm sure it'll help us get out of debt quicker.

I thought medical cards were everywhere. It's pretty easy to get one here too :unsure:

theres more deaths due to aids then to weed

where do you live, Nevada? I don't think it's everywhere but some states have them, Cali is one.

Government weed would cost a shit load, so even if it was legalized, I would steal buy it from a dealer. So it doesn't matter to me.

Ok, here's my take. One part of me says it should be legalized. It would reduce any shady/violent transactions between buyers and dealers. I know they are few and far between when it comes to marijuana deals, but still. The legalization of marijuana would boost the economy. People forget just HOW many people smoke cannabis daily. The production packaging and sale would boost the economy in a slight but still noticeable way. The taxation of it would lower the government's debt over the course of 5-10 years. Marijuana can be used as a form of paper. In fact the Declaration of Independence was written on hemp, a by product of the cannabis plant. It can also be used as a fabric to make textiles. It is healthier than alcohol. It was used as a medicine starting thousands of years before Christ and was only recently demonized in the 1930's. If more people used marijuana as a form of recreation instead of alcohol, the number of drunk drivers would depreciate exponentially as would the number of liver disease cases and domestic abuse occurences. Also it would open spots up spots in prison when growers and big time dealers currently reside and make more room for the people who deserve to be there. It would reduce taxes because less money would need to be spent, because all those people in jail that don't deserve to be in there would be taken out. On the other hand, if it was legalized the government might go overboard and tax the hell out of it which would result in everyone buying from their dealers again. So in short, I guess it's worth a shot.

One of the biggest NO against legalizing weed is.....

Pharma (Pharmaceutical industry)...which means they realize it is good as medicine and worry they can't sell their drugs
