SILICON VALLEY – Exploding all over the front pages of Facebook this week is a hot new “no homo” button, which allows users to defend their sexually questionable comments as needed on the social-networking website.
“It was really a lot to swallow all at once,” said co-founder Dale Johnson. “I was speechless, but ultimately I just had to open my mouth and accept.”
Founders Johnson and Richard King were offered $2 million to develop their idea by Tom Cruise, who is definitely not homo.
“I just saw the immensity of their idea and started literally salivating. I wanted nothing more than to just grab it at the hilt and make it mine,” said Cruise via e-mail.
In searching for an additional investor, Cruise reached out to rapper Cam’ron.
“As one of the earliest proponents of the ‘no homo’ movement, we thought it important for him to have a big, sweaty hand in this,” continued Cruise.
When asked about his recent investment, Cam responded through a representative, “yeah that dude Suckerberg is wild homo, b…just look at his name!” It is unclear whether or not Cam’ron owns a computer.
The founders were reported to have met recently to discuss their plan forward. “We’re really excited to pump this seed into our backend,” said King excitedly. “It’s just been neglected for so long and we think we can squeeze a lot out of it.”
The founders do warn, however, that two thumbs up in the same post disables the feature.
Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg has endorsed the plan to manually widen the base that they appeal to and arouse the curiosity of first-time users.
Johnson and King met while serving on the USS Abraham Lincoln. “We were of very different ranks. Dick was trying to make Rear Admiral, and I was just a private, scrubbing his deck on my hands and knees.”
The founders are tight-lipped about future releases, but rumors suggest that a “pause” button for all questionable World Star Hip Hop videos is on the way.
