I am an atheist.

What do I think happens when we die? we stop breathing, are no longer conscious, and we rot.

How could a dream-like mind state happen if no blood if circulating through the body and getting to the brain, the brain is dead. A dream or a state of mind is possible only with a live brain.

We're just life, like plants are. It's just the fact we have a very perceptive and active level of consciousness that allows us to be aware of and analyze our existence... and this gives us very profound illusions of choice and also... this idea that we are more than cells.

It's just so obviously revealing to me that people who believe in god and an afterlife only ever consider or talk about, or think possible an afterlife for humans. After-life. Are humans the only life on Earth? so why then would there not be a 'plant Afterlife', and afterlife for other species.

Not that I'm advocating the idea plausible or sensible for any species, I think it's unfounded, implausible, without basis and as close to impossible as any improbable idea we know of.

I think we die, stop breathing, and rot. And I'm totally fine with that.
