A friend of mine studied Agronomy. We had some lectures that are related to Agronomy (animal feed science), but we only scratched the surface in comparison to what my friend had to learn.
First years are terrible (Physics, Chemistry and all that stuff you'll never look at again once you start working plus the great "let's seperate the wheat from the chaff" at the end of the year, although the subjects you had say nothing about how good you're going to be in your job... Or is that different where you're from? (-> Where are you from? The subject titles are in French.)
I'm from Lebanon, like 87% of the country or more is francophone, the rest anglophone, I'm francophone (yet Ironically can speak English a thousand times better then I can speak French). And yes, most subjects we take first year won't be used later (but Botanique (taking it 2nd semester which started today) will
