50 Cent believes his new album could be as "special" as his breakthrough Get Rich Or Die Tryin.
The 36-year-old New Yorker achieved mainstream success with his 2003 debut after teaming up with superstars Dr Dre and Eminem.
He has since put out three more successful records while also building up acting and entrepreneurial careers.
50 Cent - real name Curtis Jackson - has not released an album since 2009 and is excited about his new record, which is set to be released in July.
"I think it's great - arguably as good as the first album. But music marks time, so we'll see if my timing is right," he said. "It's pretty much done. I don't want to shun opportunities (for people) to hear something that I feel is special, because I may out-do myself."
He added: "I'm excited because I took a lot longer this time and was a lot more calculated on this project. I'm saying what I really want to say to the general public as opposed to trying to just make the date and filling. There are no real album fillers on this, it's all stuff that I feel I need to have on this record."
Jackson remains tight-lipped about the title of the album.
"I haven't actually 'launched' the name for it," he said. "I know the name, but I haven't really put it out yet. I've got to figure out the right place to do it."

haha yeah 50 always talks shit up in his interviews... which is understandable.. he wants to sell.. just saying. he seems to overhype his own shit every time.
Yawn, the fans will be the ones to judge whether or not your album has fillers 50...you've said virtually the same thing about every album since your debut.

I can't say I'm excited other than that eminem hopefully will be on it. The massacre was ok, GRODT was a classic, so I have some hope, but not much that its a dope album.

''I think it's great - arguably as good as the first album.
Why does he say this with every album he's released after his first one?
Fuck top five, bitch, I'm top four And that includes Biggie and Pac, whore And I got an Evil Twin So who the fuck do you think that third and that fourth spot's for?
I think that works against him. I mean, in addition to not making great music, saying an album is as good as "X" is a good way to guarantee that people will disagree with that comparison.
