I don't know if I would, at least not here. It's in the middle of such a run down ghetto so they're probably skinny crack whores or men for that matter.

Who cares if they are crack whores? A hand job is a hand job and not dangerous at all lol.

I understand not wanting to have sex, but I guess I just see handjobs as almost non sexual. Most of the handjobs I've ever got had been from girlfriends who aren't in the mood for sex but just want to help 'relieve' me. So that's kind of how I see rub and tugs, not really even sexual, just stress relief like the message itself.

The case you mentioned isn't the reason that prostitution is illegal though

Well like I said, it isn't illegal in my country and I'm not talking about the legality of it.

Cases like that aren't the reasons why people are morally opposed to it

There are plenty who are just flat out morally against paying for sex. You will find many people who are opposed to legitimate brothels, for example, where the women are employed though applications and interviews.

Obviously I am morally opposed to sex rings, child sex trades, etc. Anything where it isn't completely consensual for all parties involved.

I was hoping someone who felt that way on this board would shed some insight as to why, but I tend to agree.

I don't think it's wrong to judge a prostitute because it comes with the occupation; and just like any job, people will judge you for what you do. Though, I don't think it's in anyones business or concern to tell someone else they can't be a prostitute.

I agree with the statement that society shouldn't judge prostitutes any more than models or masseuse or pornstars for that matter. Aren't they essentially the same thing?

There seem to be a general agreement on the issue of "prostitution" here on TRShady. A couple of questions for those of you who are in favor of this;

(1) Are you in favor of prostitution because...
.....(a) It should be up to each and every one to decide what to do with their own bodies?
.....(b) Economic reasons. Arguing that both parties are better off, it's a fair trade, and in some sense an allocation of money, even.
.....(c) Other reasons.

(2) Do you think…
…..(a) there's any correlation between demographical factors and prostitution?
…..(b) there are any (post)psychological effects from prostitution?
…..(c) there's any correlation between drug abuse and prostitution?

If your answer to any of these (in Q2) is “yes”, wouldn’t you agree that this bode for implications in the well-fare system, as well as the society in general?

Question 1 my answer is (a), but (b) is a good reason and I'm sure you could find a few others to list (c), like other forms of work that require the use of your body or contain elements of risk.

I think the answer to question 2 would depend on a lot of things. For example, I think there is a corellation between drugs and prostitution. However, I think drug addiction leads to prostitution as a means to but more drugs. I don't think prostitution (in a legitimate establishment) would lead to drug use. I would rather a crack head sell her body than break into my house and steal my shit, so as long as drug addiction is prevalent there will be drug addicted prostitutes selling their body for money. The same way there will be crack heads stealing from people. But just because junkies choose to steal doesn't mean stealing made them become a junkie.. The same way drug addicted prostitites weren't driven to drugs through prostitution, it's the other way around.

Life has an affect on people's psychology, any profession will influence your perception on life so of course prostitution will do the same. But like the scenario above, quite often prostitutes who are fcked up in the head are like that before they become prostitutes. Whether it is from abuse or other factors, they'd have psychological issues that would affect them. It isn't because they're prostitutes.

Demographic factors... Well, yes too. But again, there are so many factors to consider that none of the questions you posed present a good enough reason to say that legitimate brothels are morally corrupt, or that the girls there are wrong for selling sex.

I really don't have a problem with it. A woman's body is her own and if she's getting paid for it then why not? It's not illegal to fuck so it shouldn't be illegal to pay to fuck. I guess the only thing morally wrong would be sex in public, like alleyways and shit. Hotels and shit should be alright. Porn is legal as well, and that's sex for money on camera...

It started out as a pass-time (There was very less forms of entertainment available). Even though it was considered as a taboo, still it stayed in the society.

Now, it means quick money, fun, YOLO, seriously. It has reached to such a a level because of us, humans. Pathetic is our ever growing need for material sshit.

Food, clothing, shelter, protection from environmental factors, SEX has been the basic need of every human being since the very start. With life evolving at a pace which is hard to keep up, these needs have reached a newer threshold. It's such kind of need for wants that has made people set up big shops for satisfying those needs; same logic applies for prostitution.

You know about the rest of the needs, but sex, my friend just like others is a highly desired thing and if you don't get it, we don't move high up in the hierarchy of needs like safety, self-esteem, social needs and let alone self actualization. Prostitution is the potential market for these kind of people.
