I started my first job a couple of weeks ago in a "discount retailer" unnamed for its own protection.

Manager insists on putting me on main till all the time. Getting annoyed with it now.

just finished college and going to work from next month as a research analyst in a venture capital research firm. cant believe college life got over in a blink of an eye and now im going to work. again new territory and phase of life. got a mixed feeling of excitement and fear which i got before joining college.

Worked (in order):

Golf course: only went one day, no idea what I had to do
XS Cargo: sales associate
Crown steering and brakes: auto mechanic
Texas longhorn: chef
Metro: selector
Sephora (LMAO): customer service
Old navy: shipment
The body shop (LEL): customer service
Bath and body works: (HOYO) customer service
And a whole bunch of backbreaking, labor intensive, shitty, underpaid, dead-end agency jobs.

I haven't been employed since December, my savings are taking a hit. I just seriously have no idea what to do.

Sadly, yes lol. Sephora AND at TBS were Seasonal. Sephora didn't want me after, the Body Shop did.. but I declined and worked at BABW for 6 months instead. Eventually I had to quit because the fragrances were bringing back my asthma, which I haven't had problems with since like... 1997.

When i job hunt, I go everywhere. No place is safe from my resume- motherhood maternity, Victoria secret, Femme, Ardene, Bikini Village, La Senza, La Vie En Rose. I have no shame, plus I love seeing the reactions I get.

I had a job interview at Aritzia once, they asked "so why do you want to work here?" and I replied "because I think your pants are the greatest gift to mankind"

they never called back...

If a customer ever asked me a question about anything besides men's fragrance, I'd pass them off to another employee, or even the manager...lol they hated that.

I already got a raise this year (I just asked, and he said granted my wish), so I doubt I will get more.

It's a grocery store, so whether I get advanced opportunity or not, I don't care, because I am not going to work here another year (I hope). It's just a side-job so I can earn money while studying.

But yeah... a couple more perks would be cool.

I just quit my job at at a food fast food-esque restaurant. I was supposed to start at a dollar store (every item is a dollar or less) today, but they still don't have me in their computer system.
