To be honest, I hate the categories. It's trying to quantify something that shouldn't necessarily be quantified. You should just justify why someone wins. It gives shit judges a back-up to their shit judging skills.

Taking the categories into account, unsure how Trimss took personals?

Categories are gay. Especially for disses because you could absolutely assassinate someone's character but if you don't include some gay puns you're not going to secure the win.

Use it as a guideline in terms of taking everything into account. But why should a verse that completely destroyed someone in every way get 5 points for personals and one with one stupid pun potentially get 5 points as well.

And I'm not implying punches shouldn't equal personals. Cos the reverse is the same, imagine an extremely poorly written / poorly executed verse that has one vague/corny mention of their username or some shit they've said in the past. Potentially gets the 5 points too.

People need to use their brains when they judge, determine which verse is actually better, and then justify their decision.

I sometimes flub cats if I think a verse absolutely murked someone. Believe me, I never pick a winner where I feel they didn't have the better performance in a battle.

eg. "as you can see, X mentioned Y's dead dog here" therefore 5 points.

Yeah I feel you man, at times it does seem like there's an X factor that doesn't exactly fall directly into a category. I see the reason for a category system like we have but there's certain instances where I've seen a battle go one way due to cats where I thought the other battler deserves it more.

Well I agree in some ways, if I have harder hitting punches than they have personals, does that make it a tie... Shouldn't. But before we had categories, we would get dick riders who didn't read the verse, and vote for their favorite. This at least makes some form of specific critique. I asked not long ago if we should have categories, and what point value should be assigned, all, including you I believe, wanted a point a system, and no one added enough to change the value.
