Which would you do if 1984 happened?

If 1984-like situation happened, a brutal police-state dictatorship where information is controlled and you have almost no privacy, what would you do?

Would you join the police academy to get a slightly better standard of living, have a bit more power and avoiding becoming a victim of police brutality?

Or would you stick to your principles and try to plot against the dictatorship, even if you know a revolution won't happen in your lifetime and you'll likely get killed at some point.

I'd say both.
I mean, I'd join the police academy, but I'd still support the underground forces trying to overcome the government.
But I don't if it would be possible in that situation, they'd probably brainwash me.
I love that book, anyway, it's my favorite book ever.

How much privacy do we really have though? Everywhere we go is tracked by the gps in our phones... we have other fucking people tagging us in pictures we didn't want uploaded in the first place... my house is tapped by the US government cuz I'm such a genius and I can't even dilly dally in the bathroom without people being all like shilly shally.
