This is a thread to discuss all things to do with meditation, such as how you do it, how often, for how long, or if you haven't done it you can ask questions. I used to do it almost daily, and for the past year or so I haven't done it at all until the last few days. Pressures in school and learning to drive and getting a new job have increased, so I have started meditating again and that feeling of calm afterwards>>>> Thought it would be interesting to see if anyone here does it.

This made me laugh.
I think this thread won't be a success, Trss, I don' t know about meditation. But maybe I will do Yoga soon. I think it is kinda related. It's great because you keep fit and you relax yourself.
In the land of the killers, a sinner's mind is a sanctum.
I started doing it 2 months ago but haven't been that consistent with it, though just last week I decided to be more committed to it and I've only missed 2 days.
The way I do it is I lay on my back before I go to sleep, and basically keep my eyes open for 20 minutes trying not to think and just focus in a certain spot or whatever, or on my breathing. I also try to blink or swallow as little as possible.
Of course out of those 20 minutes only a few I manage to do right without having my mind wandering but it gets better with time so I'm patient with it.
And even as it is, it is very helpful, makes you realize how much mental noise is there in your mind and it helps with concentration and just being in the moment throughout the day. I hope not to miss many in the future, and I advise everybody to try this out.

Thanks for a decent response, and yeah i like doing it this way too. It helps you to understand everything and get perspective on things, but also when there is a lot going on meditation gives you that little bit of time where nothing is on your mind.
For everyone else, i find this guy annoying to listen to but the way he describes it is similar to how i do it
And yes i am being serious at the moment, however much it may seem like some kind of troll.
I'm fond of psychedelic-enhanced meditation, but I find it silly to do sober unless I'm trying to calm myself.

I get stressed out by things sometimes, to that kind of panicky stage. I can cover it up quite well but it builds up inside, every now and then I need a release. 20 minutes of calm after a day of stress is great, helps me sleep quicker too.
