Why is that stupid? It's his fuckin family. If my family lived in Iraq I don't necessarily have to be concerned with the entire country's problems to care about my family. Would it be more sensitive to concern himself with everyone's problems? Yes. But it doesn't make him stupid to care about his relatives first and foremost.

Charismatic disappointment is the most accurate Obama description I've heard yet. Abram is on point. Politics aside, I would down a few beers and watch Pineapple Express with him.

But as someone who once supported him, I must say I've been let down. I also acknowledge that it hasn't been easy either, the House just flat out fucking hates him and staunchly go against anything he proposes, hence all the issues.... I'm just fed up with the current government... they seem more concerned with playing the political game than actually fixing anything.

I love the dude. Happily voted for him both times and have not regretted that decision.

Anything he puts forward gets shut down by congressional republicans so it is what it is. Although his approval rating is low, most Americans seem to agree in various polls that republicans are overwhelmingly to blame for the majority of problems this country faces.

That party is dying though because the extreme right wingers are scaring moderates away so it won't be long before it's the democrats vs independents/green party/libertarians/whatever

So at least that'll be good. But for now, the two sides can't agree on anything and our government is in gridlock.

No different from pulling the plug on a vegetable in a coma. The person in a coma has no idea they're alive, they're not conscious. They also can't feel themselves die. As far as I'm concerned, aborting before the fetus can feel and think for itself is very similar to that. Different circumstances, sure, but the concept is the same and can be treated the same. The fetus would have no idea that it was alive and, therefore, wouldn't know it died.
