Everything was just like how it is today, but it was a virtual reality game. You would put on some glasses and suddenly you're physically in the game. Anything you do in the game will not affect the real life. You will feel pain, emotions and all that, though. You can fuck Kim Kardashian, kill Rihanna, steal a Lamborghini, or just chill with the teleporting function in the game and see places you've never seen, but nothing will go on over to the real life.
This is of course not it, but it's at least something (very very very very very very very far away, but still)
