Yeah, I'd give them 1000% to family or friends.

But think of this. An alcoholic someone is dying because of liver failures. Should I be cut open just to have an alcoholic ruin my liver yet again? Of course, it could be a dad of someone but I feel like there should be a limit tbh, otherwise people will live so recklessly cause they'll think "hm, I'd get a new liver anyway let's get totally fucked up"

I don't see how lifestyle choices make you ineligible for a second chance.

If my dad died because of lung cancer from smoking, and nobody wanted to give him a lung, I'd be really pissed off.

I think the ordeal of a transplant would be enough to make 90 percent of people quit smoking or drinking, anyway...

It's not what I'm saying at all.. My own grandpa died of liver failure and well if someone had donated a liver he'd still be alive but it is how it is and it sucks, it does.
But if ANYONE who is an alcoholic is garantueed a new liver, the people who have liver failures because of other causes that aren't addiction (addiction isn't a mental illness, the fuck outta here), are ignored cause there'll be an abundance of people demanding a new liver and people will live more recklessly. I'm not saying I'd put a restriction on who gets my liver or not, it's just the way I feel about it. I'm not approving alcoholism and neither should anyone.

Addiction is a mentall illness and i'm sure nobody would willingly go through all the pain of messing up their liver just for fun and because they know theyd get a new one lol

I gotta disagree with you Charlotte. Addiction is definetly a mental illness, but lets save that for another thread lol. What if this alcoholic person you save, goes onto save countless other lives and so on and so on
