DETROIT, MI -- Eminem's effort to give back to Detroit charity Focus: HOPE has already made an impressive impact online - with a day to spare.

The rapper's eBay auction had raised $17,353 for Focus: HOPE by 11 a.m. Wednesday from 606 bids that appeared to be from around the world.

Items fans are able to bid on until about 7 p.m. Thursday include ticket packages to the Eminem/Rihanna Monster Tour shows in Detroit at Comerica Park and limited edition Casio G-Shock watches.

A total of 10 items are up for auction (click on link to see items and bid) and all the proceeds from each items will go toward Focus: HOPE, a charity that provides food and basic services to seniors and families.

The charity also has educational programs and career training for the unemployed and has been heavily involved in providing aide to help revitalize Detroit's neighborhoods.

It's unclear how Focus: HOPE will use the money raised in the auction once the bidding process ends.

A message left Wednesday morning with Steve Ragan, Focus: HOPE's chief development and external relations officer, wasn't immediately returned.

For more about Focus: HOPE and the the services it offers in Detroit, check out the charity's YouTube channel, its Facebook page and its Twitter page.

Eminem, who grew up in Warren and Detroit, has shown plenty of generosity over the years for charitable causes in the area.

Wolverine Human Services CEO Judith Wollack told MLive.com last December that he has given more than $200,000 to the organization that helps needy children.

"I think Michiganders and Detroiters all love where we live and support what we do to bring out the best in our people and our cities," said Wollack, who estimates that Eminem gave at least $105,000 to the charity in 2012. "We're absolutely blown away by the support he's given."

An online fundraising campaign for Wolverines Human Services last year that was backed by Eminem raised $72,463 - an amount he agreed to match.

Wolverine Human Services has offices in Detroit, Warren, Flint, Saginaw and Vassar
and Taylor. Most of the children it serves come from Detroit, surrounding Wayne County communities and areas of Oakland County.

Eminem spent part of his childhood on Detroit's east side in a bungalow-style home at 19946 Dresden.

That home sat on street that had, as of last November, at least 70 vacant residential structures.

It was torn down Nov. 20 by the Michigan Land Bank because state officials claimed it posed a safety hazard.

An image of the Dresden home is is the cover art for Eminem's The Marshall Mathers LP 2 album that was was released on Nov. 5.

The home was also the cover art for his The Marshall Mathers LP album released in 2000.

Eminem will go on The Monster Tour this summer with Rihanna for two shows in Detroit, two in New York and two in Los Angeles.

Both shows in Detroit will be held in early August at Comerica Park, home of the Detroit Tigers.

$17,000 will do little to nothing for a large city like Detroit.

Eminem's eBay auction raises over $24K for Detroit charity; Slim Shady's generosity adds up

DETROIT, MI -- An eBay auction that sold Eminem memorabilia and concert tickets for a show with Rihanna in Detroit has reaped noteworthy rewards for a local charity that helps city residents in need.

Non-profit Focus: HOPE posted on Twitter this month that an Eminem-sponsored auction on the eBay raised over $24,000 for its community programs.
