I don't care if there's some sort of 'scientific research' on that because I don't think that is necessarily true, stupid people have existed since the dawn of time and will continue until life no longer exists.
Social media & the Internet in general just let people do idiotic things in on a larger platform.

yea but how exactly does "making duckface" for phasebook foto make you "worse". It's not bad or wrong in any way, other than some people dislike duckface.
Also define "dumb". Am i dumb because i cant do many things that my parents or grandparents could, or am i just adapting to my environment which includes computers and the internet, and less chopping wood and cave paintings.

I'm 14 and consider myself of above average intelligence - it doesn't bother me if that comes off as arrogant that's just how I feel, at least in comparison to a lot of my peers.
Of course your question might not of been directed at me haha.
Anyway I think people would have been doing just as much ignorant dumb shit back in the day if they had these sort of resources - all the racist, homophobic people 100 years ago with this platform to spread their views would be a lot worse.

I hate to play the 'you don't know my story' card - I'm fully aware that I don't know everything - but my upbringing has given me many different experiences, a lot of them not so pleasant.
I understand you're not trying to be condescending and that's fine but how could you possibly know I haven't 'had enough experiences'./

But be more humble when talking to people who have much more experience than you - mainly because of their age

Fair enough, the original intention of my first comment was that our IQ's aren't necessarily lower nowadays - I'm part of that new generation and I don't won't to be stereotyped as stupid because of my age.
Age doesn't mean more experience? There are many 20+ year olds that have lived very sheltered lives in comparison to people younger than them, so whose more experienced in life?
In my opinion, being older than someone doesn't make them more experienced or knowledgeable in every case.

In most of them, you just mature with age, my way of thinking it's different now than when I was 14, Even if you had a taugh life and lot of experience, 14 years are still 14 years. And most people don't have many experience at that age.

When I was around your age, my Ethics proffesor (ethics is what you study here when you don't want to study religion) he was a pretty cool guy, but we were the cool kids, we would be doing all kind of annoying stuff, he told me once "one day when you are older you would realize how inmature you were". Back then I thought I was all mature and he was a know it all. Now I realize how right he were.

So remember my words, maybe one day you'll realize too. I hope this is not sounding like I'm attacking you. I'm not. Just generalizing.

Age is a factor, of course someone who is dumb, will be dumb with 14, 24, 34 and all the life.
