That's the reason his legitimacy is questionable though. I don't think anyone would say Wayne is the most popular rapper in the game right now (or for the past couple years) but somehow he ends up with the highest first week sales.

He was arguably hotter than Eminem in the late 2000s though. Even here in Europe everybody was listening to him and it wasn't just the radio. You could see people playing his music in the car EVERY single day, this something I hadn't seen since Eminem in 1999/2000.

I still see a lot of people wearing lil wayne/YMCMB clothes... I have never seen in my entire life someone wearing Em, 50 or jay's stuff. If you come to Brussels, I promise you you'll see some love for Lil Wayne

Also, Lil Wayne can hold down a real tour. He doesn't have to go to festivals. He's not pretending to be bigger than what hes is.

That's what happens when you flood the radio, hop on every possible feature in existence in those years and have lyrics on an intellectual level to that of a sloth with half a brain and dementia.

Lmao. The thing is, I know a lot of people that will listen to Wayne's new song or feature, but I've never met a single person that owns his albums.

Obviously, I'm a much bigger fan of the latter but it seems to me that Wayne has more street credibility, if that makes sense.

He was huge during his 2008ish run, I don't think anyone would deny that. He's not at that popularity level now though. After flopping pretty hard with 3 out of the last 4 albums he's put out, it would be pretty odd if all of the sudden he went platinum first week.

I do too. The point is that despite how much he's all over the radio and being played all of the time, none of his fans that I know actually buy his albums.

Well if that's how it is then I guess that makes sense. I'm not trying to hate on Wayne I would actually like to see this be released on Tuesday. His sales fluctuations have always been weird. Even if it gets pushed back I just want the tracklist. I want to see the features.
