I just felt it was a fake transition

i thought the same until i saw the documentary. it was a legitimate spiritual evolution for him, he went to jamaica in a desperate attempt to escape the stress of the western world and he ended up meeting with an elder shaman there who at the end of the trip deems him "snoop lion", and he just adopted it from there. couldn't have been a more genuine transition. the look on his face when the guy called him that was like a child on christmas, he almost broke down. and for someone who's been around and seen as much as snoop it takes a whole lot to get that kind of reaction.
