Of course he was just messing around in the song. But it's almost like he wanted to make the flow sound similar to the original, accept with more complex wordplay. Perhaps he wanted to show us that even when he's messing around in his sleep, he can still perform in ways that remind us how great he was. I was actually impressed. I felt that if he wanted to make a serious song again with the same old 8 Mile flow, he could. But I guess it's pretty obvious that he is all about ''new'' challenges now. He already mastered the old flow, now he's onto new flows. He's always working hard at new challenges and expanding his various styles. Pretty crazy how every album he's ever made still is same old Shady in some ways, yet completely different. A lot of other rappers just use the same flows forever.

I'm not saying I'm right, but that second verse sounds a lot more like 2014 Em than 2002 Em to me. The way he splits that word to fit the rhyme scheme especially.
